Period Clots, Are They Normal ?

a little while ago I was sitting on the couch when all of a sudden I discharged and I felt like I was peeing ! I’m in the middle, more towards the end, of my 9th or so period, and it was around time to change pad anyway. So I went to the bathroom to find a long, darkish red snake like clot in my pad. Instantly after, I started getting bad cramps, and very frequent liquidy period discharge. Is this normal ???? Please help. I am 13 and kinda freaking out. Side note : in the shower when I’m on my period, I always notice a few small red clots going down the drain. It may just me thick blood, but I’m not sure.

Also – I have started having pain around the area where the discharge comes from…. Is that related to my clot ? Please, do I need to go to the doctor ?? And how would I tell my mum if I do…

Yes i am pretty sure clots are normal. I get them too and only recently have gotten minor pains ‘down there’. I don’t think it’s necessary to go to a doctor but if you are really worried mabye see a female one – since they know what it’s like.
