pimply skin before period

hi everyone…
so basically, before my period starts, my face sprouts like a bunch of pimples, mostly on my forehead, cheeks, and chin.
I already have a package thing that has washing solution, gel and cream, and my mum told me not to use them since my pores wouldn’t be open for them to heal (?)
basically I wanted to ask what are some ways of helping the acne clear, since there is a lot and I’m kinda self-conscious… TT
maybe please list some of the methods you use, and lotions or creams you guys use, thanks so much !!!

    Pimples = the worst! I feel you – I get break outs before my period too.

    Although we all HATE waking up & seeing unwanted, red spots on our face, it’s SO normal to experience pimples before/during your period. This is due to a number of hormonal changes going on in our bodies, causing an increase in oil production.

    Some tips that generally help me combat hormonal breakouts are;
    – Filling my plate with fresh fruits, veggies, whole grains & avoiding too much sugar. I know reducing your sugar intake before your period starts is HARD (I want ALL the chocolate!) but it will will make a huge difference to your skin!
    – Taking regular showers – but remember to not scrub your face TOO hard, as this can irritate the skin even more!
    – Getting those ZZZ’s & changing my pillow frequently to avoid bacteria being left on the skin.
    – Keep up with your skincare routine, you might want to try a cleanser with salicylic acid in it, this is an acne-busting ingredient and helps to remove excess oil and give your pores a deep clean. Plus, always remember to let your skin breathe! That means, try & avoid wearing too much makeup.
    – hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! I can’t stress this enough, ensuring you’re drinking lots of water will do wonders for your skin during this time.

    Try not to stress about it too much, it happens to majority of people during PMS. Give some of these tips a try! Gem x
